In the right population, AAT (and work on the Autonomic Nervous System) is nothing short of miraculous. Check out this emotional audio testimony from a patient of Scott Musgrave’s to see what the power of AAT accomplised in only 2 sessions using level I techniques:
Below is a 15 minute video called “Understanding Trauma – the cause of chronic conditions”. This video explains how Trauma and Stress impact the brain to create chronic conditions like: Chronic Pain, Depression, Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress, and Fibromyalgia. This will help you understand how the brain / body connection works and why many (or all) of the other things you’ve tried may not have helped to completely eliminate your symptoms.
And here is a link to the first step of AAT if you want to get started right away from the comfort of your own home. It is a $10 ebook that will start the process of retraining the reactivity of your Nervous System. Further training can be done on line by following the links at the bottom of the page, or can be done in person in my office.
AAT is a treatment technique aimed at chronic health problems. The science behind the techniques is fully explained by Dr. Robert C Scaer in his book “The Body Bears The Burden”
Basically, AAT works with the nervous system to decrease the body’s reactivity to stressful or negative life events and clears the held trauma/stress from the body. Dr. Scaer describes trauma as a corruption of time. The body perceives past negative life events as if they are happening now, in the present. This keeps the bodies’ Autonomic Nervous System on guard, or in a freeze state, and does not let us live and operate in the present. This dysreguleted Autonomic Nervous System causes a myriad of health problems. See my whitepaper for specifics. The techniques of AAT work to decrease and eliminate these connections, allowing the body to operate like it was designed to.
There are 6 steps to AAT, with 5 of them being self applied by the client. For those unable to get the hands on training and treatments in my office, you can access a home program to get started on your own. Be aware that the hands on sessions of Reflax are critical to the process (but there is even a video you can get that will teach a friend or partner to perform an abbreviated form of this treatment). Some individuals may be able to achieve success with these home tools alone, but if not, don’t give up as I have numerous other tools and the expanded hands on treatments that affect big changes. Some folks may address their needs solely with AAT. Others will need to combine this with the other services I offer to achieve the results they are seeking.
