With the New Year upon us, many of us use this time to reflect on where we have been, where we want to go, and what we need or want to do differently with our lives.
I bet most, if not all of our resolutions, have to do in one way or another with increasing our sense of inner peace. David Berceli, PhD, who has travelled all over the world bringing TRE to millions of people, has this to say recently in Bogota, Columbia: “We as humans all over the world are suffering and struggling. We all have stress, tension, anxiety, and trauma. We are all trying to figure a way to move towards happiness and inner peace. Humans are the same all over the world – what we all really are looking for, is inner peace. We may say we want money, comfort, etc, but we really just want inner peace.”
Fascinating observation from someone someone who has seen and worked with so many people around the world.
So, I ask you to look at the deeper meaning in your New Year’s Resolutions, and challenge you to find a way to get more of that inner peace. Tension Releasing Exercises (TRE) is obviously one of those ways are there are many others. I use TRE and a number of other techniques with my clients. Do your homework, and go with something that seems to resonate with you.
Critical to finding inner peace is good health. I’m biased, but Physical Therapy is one common profession that can help you with this goal – review your goals and plans with your Physical Therapist. There are also many other good guides and facilitators to health and inner peace – be sure to include them in the tool kit for achieving your New Year’s Resolutions.
Good luck!
